Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit has designed a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the brand. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

It is the perfect gift to greet a new owner of their luxurious car.

Aesthetics

As a company that is primarily focused on design, Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting, the use of leather that is made from by-products of cattle, the wood from sustainably-managed forests, as well as the unique patterns of its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you take it in, displaying its sculptural beauty and power through carefully planned lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. Its rear tonneau for instance, featured the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly,  www.thekeylab.co.uk -operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after automobile brand worldwide due to its unique design and craftsmanship. The company continues to push boundaries with the latest technology and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear window sunroof and a crafted Apple iPad docking station.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, 100 years after it was founded. The marque, which is now owned by Volkswagen without a partner following years of disputes with BMW, had planned a number of special launches and events to celebrate this significant occasion. Before the pandemic planning took center stage, the marque held a series of special events and launches planned to celebrate this significant occasion.

Design

Bentley is known as a luxury car manufacturer that creates extravagant and luxurious cars. But even the keys are an oath. The Bentayga key is made from sterling silver and features an oversized 'B' logo that tells everyone you're a Bentley. The key is also decorated with the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company's centennial.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and improved by Bentley Mulliner to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to offer passengers the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The bespoke heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was designed to provide each passenger with the perfect temperature control.

Alongside a range of elegantly executed styling revisions and a host of elegantly executed styling changes, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine that produces 560bhp as well as 479lbft of torque. This amazing power is coupled by a new suspension system that gives Bentley's famously quiet ride.

Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars made after 2019 to celebrate its centenary. It is known as the Centenary Specification. The cabin is decorated with cross-stitching as well as contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests seats, the interior and other areas of the car. This is a great way to celebrate the occasion. The Centenary Specification also includes a bespoke Bentley keycase, adding to the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key has a button that opens the trunk and a second button that turns on the car. The key also comes with a switch that allows you to turn on the parking brake. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors when parking in tight spots. This feature can aid you in getting in and out of your car more easily.

Each key takes two days to make. It is hand cut to shape, sewn sealed and polished to create an extremely high-end finish. It is durable and compact, and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a luxurious feel.

Secure-A-Key is also available to prevent keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob. It disables it after a few minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design reflects the values of the company, which include fine craftsmanship and engineering expertise as well as modern technology. Over 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley automobiles. These workers apply the skills that have been passed through generations to current automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. Guests sit at a series of images, referred to "mood stations" and choose a selection of photos ranging from scenic views to sporting events that will inspire them. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges will reveal the model colors, style and color preferences for the custom Bentley.

The guests receive an individual key case created by hand and containing the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can also be equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that light up the door's opening path with the owner's name or logo when they are approaching the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes about 500 man-hours to build and construct the Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a conscious refusal to embrace the latest technology. Instead of using a machine to space the perfectly-matched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors to guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spaces, drivers have to do it by hand.

In the course of the event, Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization options with one particular example that was the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars come with keys that display an original 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
